"Proform's 5 Star Interactive Trainer 1200"
The 5 Star Interactive Trainer 1200 is much like the top of the line model proform used to carry: the 1800. It's just a little less powerful, and a little less costly.

Like the 1800, the 1200 is roomy, has ProShox Cushioning (TM);, and comes with a warranty on the tread. It's got a commercial-grade motor, too, however, the 1200 has only a 2 horse motor, and the 1800 had a 3 horse motor.
This difference in horsepower can make some difference.

The 1200 tops out at 10 MPH, while the Proform 1800 topped out at 12 MPH. Most users will stay below 10 MPH, and if you find 10 MPH too easy on a flat treadmill, you can always set the incline higher. Personally, 10 MPH is plenty, so I see no reason to have spent more for the 1800.
There are some other differences, though, too. The incline goes only to 10%, while the 1800 went to 14%. So you kind of get the point. If you're an elite athlete, and you were looking to buy a Proform treadmill, you would have probably wanted to go with the 1800. But the 1200 is probably enough for the rest of us. Remember, a fairly steep grade when you're driving is 5%.
In favor of the Proform 1200, its pricetag is nice. It comes in at $1,299 $999 (!), as opposed to the $1899 tag on the 1800. And remember, it's still a very robust and roomy treadmill. It's just a little less powerful than its bigger brother was.
I will definitely include this model in my "test run" phase.
