"Proform's 930i Treadmill"
Proform's 930i makes me say "huh?" I don't get it. It's one of those things that sounds too good to be true when you first compare it to the Proform 1800.

First, the Proform 930i costs only $899, which is $1000 less than the 1800, and, as of the time of this writing, it came with free shipping.
"So what?" you say? Maybe it costs less because you get less.
But here's the strange thing . . .
|
in some ways you seem to get more. There's got to be something I'm missing, and that will come out when I do my test runs, but this definitely looks like a major contender.
Proform 930i versus Proform 1800
First, the Proform 930i is actually roomier than the top model, with a 20" tread, compared to the 19" tread for the 1800.
Second, the Proform 930i comes with ten built-in workouts, instead of 8 for the Proform 1800.
Third, in addition to outshining the 1800 in the previous two features, the Proform 930i keeps pace with it on several other features. It tops out at 12mph. It has a workout fan, and it has an EKG grip pulse monitor.
Finally, there are some features where it does trail. The Proform 930i has only a 2 horse motor versus the 3 horse motor for the Proform 1800. This is part of what confuses me, though. The 930i can still top out at 12mph, so I'm not sure what difference the horsepower makes here. Maybe it comes into play with steep inclines.
And speaking of incline, the incline is less for the 930i, too. It tops out at 10% versus 14% for the 1800.
OVERALL the Proform 930i seems to be a great bargain, and, at the time of this writing (I think this is the 6th Proform model I've looked at), it is the one I'm most interested in trying. It keeps pace with the 1800, is roomier, and is $1000 less.
